Bioshock

Originally released on Aug. 21, 2007 for the PC and XBOX 360 & later on Oct. 21, 2008 for the Playstation 3, Bioshock became a very popular series. Created by 2K, this first-person shooter brought a stylish brain-horror to a genre more familiar with cheap trills and bookish smarts. Clever, intricate, and darkly funny, it's all the things games aren't meant to be, as well as all of the things they are.

FUN: This game was a fantastic game. Using guns and a type of "magic" called plasmids against crazy killers and even the iconic Big Daddies was always a treat. On top of those, we were trying to stop this power driven leader who let his city go to Hell. FUN - 2.

REPLAY: Sadly... for this game, there is no reply value. Well... except to play it over and over to get every single trophy (I played it on the PS3. It goes by another name on XBOX 360) in the game. REPLAY - 0.5.

STORY: As I said under fun, your job is to stop a power driven leader who let his city go to Hell. However, that's more of a summary. You start off on a plane that ends up crashing right next to the entrance to Rapture aka the Best Place on Earth. 'Best Place on Earth' my arse. Turns out that everything went down hill very quickly and everyone became a crazy killer trying to get one thing... Adams (No... not Atom, even though it works like that... Adam. Strange isn't it?) Adams came from this odd Sea Slug that the scientists found while in Rapture. They found out that Adams allow humans to change and shape a lot of things about them, from the why they look to giving them the powers we know & love, plasmids. One scientist used the sea slug to make the Little Sisters, who correct the Adams from dead bodies. Of course, many of the crazy people found out about that & try to kill the Little Sisters for the Adams. That where Big Daddies come in. They protect the Little Sisters. All I have to say is that you have your work cut out for you. STORY - 2.

DIFFERENCE/ORIGINAL: This whole game is original! It was the first in it's now three game series (Bioshock Infinite is the 3rd. I will rate that someday, but not on this blog. My Non-Nintendo one). This game introduced the Big Daddies and Little Sisters that now become one of the most iconic cosplays I still see to this very day. DIFFERENCE/ORIGINAL - 2.

DIFFICULTY: I would say that this game has a difficulty level for each kind of gamer. Easy for beginners, Normal for basic gamers who want balance, and Hard for hardcore gamers. DIFFICULTY - 2.

TOTAL - 8.5.

There you have it. Bioshock in a nutshell. Hope you like it. Comment if you have something to add or agree or even disagree. Thanks for reading, Benjamin P. Parker
